Lindsey Strohmeyer - USA - Bio

I think I have always been a creator of what I imagined, even at a very young age I remember making little dolls out of twist ties. It was just a matter of what I could get my hands on. As I grew the materials became more sophisticated along with my ideas. I attempt always to capture a moment in time and an emotion of a being. My interest has steadily been in the figure and the isolation of that figure from its surroundings.
I began sculpting dolls around age 14 or 15 after taking porcelain dollmaking classes for a year and yearning to do it all myself. I spent the next few years sculpting, creating and challenging myself in a very natural way. I later went to college and studied fine arts. Technically it helped me advance, but I think creatively it made me overthink everything. For the next nearly ten years I produced very little. For reasons I don't understand I closed my creative box and then one day, years later, it opened. I am again enjoying my creativity and letting come what may.
